Ok I don't know if this was a joke but I took it the safe way and dealt with it rather in a 'professional' way.
I get this WERID phone call from a patient today who sounded worried and needed some med advice.
Him: "My thingy's very painful and stings. I put Deep Heat on it and now it hurts."
Me: "Where did you put the cream on?"
Him: "You know what I'm taking about right?"
Me: "No. Can you be a little bit more specific?"
Him: "On my PENIS."
Me: "So you pout Deep Heat on your penis??? Why did you put it there for?"
Him: "It was painful, so I put some on, now its really hot and hurts even more."
Me: "Deep Heat isn't suppose to be used on private parts . You use it for muscle pains on ur joints, arms, legs etc... not on private parts, its too sensitive."
Him: "I can't stand it anymore. What should I do?"
Me: "Ok. You need to wash it off with some water right now. Perhaps put some ice on it afterwards if it still feels hot."
Him: "How can I wash it off? I can't reach the sink! Its too high!"
Me: "errr... why dont' you try the shower? You'll get a better access."
Him: "I can't. I'm not at home and its killing me. Help me pls"
Me: "Ok look. Try the shower first ok. Go home, find a shower and wash it off. then if still doesn't get better, come in and show the doctor. Thank you. Bye bye."
I just hanged up.......Geez Deep Heat there? That's a first......Like I said, not sure if its a prank, but if its true, that was hilarious!!! hahahah OUCH ... and then I tell my boss this story, and he goes: "maybe he couldn't reach the sink coz he was short?" LOL
