This lady comes in with a script for Doxylin 100mg tabs.
Patient was general so I charged them general price.
Lady blows at me: "Why is it $19.20? I came 2 days ago and it was $5.60???"
Me: Oh did you have a concession card?
Lady: Yes I do but I don't have it on me.
Me: me checks history (patient hasn't been to our chemist before) Was it under your name or someone else's name.
Lady: It was under my name but that's under 'his' name (points to the guy next to her).
Me: Does he have a concession card?
Lady: I do, but he doesn't.
Me: Yeh that's why. His not eligibile for a concession card so he can't get it under a concessional rate.
Lady: (rolls eyes) Can't you do it under my name? We are taking the same thing you know.
Me: No I can't. The prescription is under his name and it is for him. I will have to dispense it under his name. If he is not eligible for a concession card then he doesn't get it on a concession rate.
Lady: Fine.
